Today, in the Byzantine Calendar, is the Sunday of the Samaritan Woman, who met Jesus by the well and was told by Jesus that he offers the waters of life.
The Samaritan Woman came to the well with faith and saw You, the Master of Wisdom. You satisfied the thirst of her soul, and she inherited the kingdom of Heaven forever. (Troparion for the Feast)
Last night, I got to see the new Doctor Who episode, Planet of the Ood. While it tells us more about the Ood, there was not much to the story. It was just a “fun story” mixed with sorrow and joy, with the Doctor having a run-around being chased before the plot turned into a “base under seige” kind of story. I would only give it 7/10. It’s enjoyable but not the best of the new series. It has hints of what is going to happen by the end of the series — “The Doctor’s song is going to end.” There are discussions on the net going on as to what that means — either the Doctor will regenerate, or the Doctor is going to vanish from the time stream. We will know soon enough.
It’s very hot in my apartment, and I have to keep the windows open to let the air circulate. If I don’t do that, I wouldn’t be able to handle it. As it is, the circulation barely helps.
